Yamba’s Inaugural Single Fin Invitational

Lynne Mowbray | The ‘2018 Clarence Head Longboarders Single Fin Invitational’ was held at Turner’s Beach Yamba over the weekend. The 71 entrants travelled from as far away as Noosa in Queensland and Wilson’s Promontory in Victoria, to take part in the inaugural event. Clarence Head Longboarders spokesperson John Mansfield said that the event was held under perfect longboard conditions. “The inaugural event was exceptionally successful,” Mr Mansfield said. “Everyone wants to see it return even bigger and better next year,” he said. The longboarders competed in nine divisions with the following results in the inaugural event: Timber – Merc Fuller (Scotts Head) Open Ladies and Over 40’s Ladies – Wendy Stevenson (Banora Point) Over 65’s – Peter Dutton (Cabarita Beach) Over 60’s – Mike Timm (Cabarita Beach) Over 50’s – Charlie O’Sullivan (Woolgoolga) Open Men’s and Over 40’s – Dean (Turbo) Bevan (Kingscliff) Juniors – Clancy O’Neill (Clarence Head Longboarders)
