Yamba SLSC welcomes renovations

Lynne Mowbray | The Yamba Surf Club celebrated the completion of their renovated kitchen and bar area at an official opening on Saturday, which was conducted by Clarence MP Chris Gulaptis. Yamba SLSC president Joe Dougherty said that the project was partially funded by the NSW Government’s Surf Club Facility Grant Program, run by the Department of Sport and Recreation. “An amount of $58,600 went towards the club to do the work,” Mr Dougherty said. “The kitchen has been fully renovated to bring it up to commercial standard so that we can hold functions; weddings, parties and club events. “There was a cool room installed, again for functions, but also for our bar and renovations to our bar as well. “Between the two (the kitchen and bar) we now have a facility that’s of a commercial standard and hopefully will generate revenue for the club, to fund our life saving and education programs,” he said.
