What’s on Australia Day weekend

January 25

Community fire aid – Five bands from the Clarence Valley are joining together for a night of music to raise money for bushfire assistance.

January 26

Clarence Valley Council – Australia Day Citizenship ceremony at 9am at the Council Chambers – 2 Prince Street.

Coutts Tavern – Come along for live music from 1pm with crab races starting at 2pm.

Harwood Hotel – The best day out by the river. Table bookings are essential call 6646 4223 for bookings.

Iluka Bowls Club – Australia Day games and mud crab racing. $10 per person (includes adults). Tickets now available or purchase on the day.

Lawrence Historical Society, Golf Club & Over 50’s – At 9.30am a flag raising at Lawrence Park followed by morning tea. At 12 noon BBQ, games and entertainment at Lawrence Golf and Sports Club. Come dressed in your best Australian outfit.

Maclean Bowling Club – Australia Day Barefoot Bowls fundraiser for drought relief – $5 entry per person, sausage sizzle, raffles, live entertainment…from 3pm.

Wooli Caravan Park – Sausage sizzle at the caravan park from 12 noon. Please bring a plate plus sweets or nibbles to share.

Wooloweyah RFS – Are holding a flag raising ceremony at 8.30am followed by a breakfast.

Port of Yamba Historical Society (Yamba Museum) – Welcome to Country and flag raising ceremony from 8.30am, followed by damper and tea.

Bowlo Sports and Leisure Yamba – Australia Day family fun. Barefoot bowls 4 – 5.30pm and 5.30 – 7pm. Bookings essential, includes a sausage sandwich, games and Aussie music.

Yamba Shores Tavern – Australia Day with DJ Margy, Longy-one and DJ Breno – 3pm – 9pm.
