SPAR Maclean has done it again

| Lynne Mowbray Bob and Judith Little and their team at SPAR Maclean have once again taken out awards at this year’s National SPAR Excellence Awards, which was held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre on Saturday, 28 July. The store took out the SPAR Grocery Excellence Award, Community and Customer Service Excellence Award and Store Investment Award. SPAR Maclean owner Bob Little said (tongue in cheek), that after winning the SPAR Store of the Year Award for the last three years in a row, “it was about time to give another store a go”. “I’d have to say I’d doubt whether they’d probably want to give it to us four times in a row. It might not have been ‘politically’ the right thing to do,” Mr Little said. “But we’ve come out of it very, very well. “The awards are based over a huge criteria over the whole 12 months of trading and not just judged on one day. “The reps from SPAR judge us when they come in here and we never know when they are coming – they just turn up. They are looking for consistency, not just a special performance when they arrive. “This is a one year break from the ‘Store of the Year’, so, next year we want it back again,” he said laughing.
