Great day, great course, great golf!
It might have been the later hit off time of 8am but all our golfers had great scores in the nine hole Stableford round this week.
There was one matchplay between Tony Turner and Denis Kelly and by halfway it looked like Tony had it in the bag, being 2 up but Denis had other ideas and won the 7th and 8th holes to be all square at the last. Both reached the green at about 15ft from the hole for the same number of strokes, so it was all down to putting. Denis slammed his in the hole, putting pressure on Tony, who had been sinking them from everywhere all day but just lipped out on this one giving Denis the match.
In the Stableford scores Denis and Tony took out first and second places, both with 22 points, leaving Graham Cox on 20 points to pick up third spot.
The NTPs saw Terry Wilson win the Pro Shop voucher on the 10th, Chris Sharp, who was so close to a hole in one on the 12th took home the Bean Scene voucher and Denis Kelly won the Sassafras voucher on the 17th.
We will continue to plan our tee times from 8am until at least early August, unless of course we are asked to play earlier due to other bookings.
