Osprey RSL Day Club

Hi everyone. Although our numbers were down last week with some people travelling, others with wretched doctor appointments (on your special Club Day), and a couple on the sick list, we still had a fun filled day.

That’s not to say we didn’t miss the “missing” persons, we did, but we still managed to get enough card players together to satisfy the card sharps. As for that UNO group! The obvious fun you have on that table is to be witnessed to be believed. I have seen kids play that, and they don’t have anywhere near the fun you guys do. Thank you for introducing Pat to the game; she thought it was great. Bet you didn’t think she was going to win a couple of hands. Tricked ya.

A big thank you to Dave for bringing such a huge bag of freshly picked mandarins from his farm to share with everyone. It was a lovely thoughtful gesture and appreciated by all. I know I keep saying it, but it is all those kindly acts that add a special something to our club. We are most fortunate to have such strong fellowship and genuine goodwill amongst our members. My mother used to say “birds of a feather, flock together” and I believe that is so true of our Osprey Club.

May I just say at this point if you are looking for a group to join, one that will stimulate you and entertain you in every way; or you would like to be a volunteer, please come along and experience our hospitality, and discover what it is that makes us so special.

Maree, who won the lucky door prize also had the hide to win several Bingo prizes and needed a trolley to get the goods to the car!

June and Pete won the $20 shopping vouchers.

No Osprey next week June 21. We will see you all back bright eyed and bushy tailed on June 28 as per normal. So if you are going to chuck a “sickie” make it this coming Friday.

Please ring Leanne Christie for info on 0413 101 518.
