Matt Kean & climate change

Ed,

What a breath of fresh air (in all the smoke) to have Matt Kean, the NSW Environment Minister, acknowledge the link between the current unprecedented bushfire crisis and climate change.  And it seems that the NSW Government is planning to do much more towards reducing the state’s climate emissions. So I can look forward to some real action.

What a contrast with the Federal Government!  Kean’s statements highlight the lacklustre climate performance of our do-nothing Prime Minister and his dinosaur federal colleagues.

When they recover from the shock of Minister Kean’s announcement, perhaps they might actually start to “talk” about climate change. And by some miracle that might lead to a very necessary ramping up of the federal government’s action on climate change. Probably unlikely –  but one can only hope!
