Maclean Triples Championship

Congratulations to the team consisting of Marlene Crelley, Denise Burey ( sub for C Causley) and Fiona Stewart-Butcher (skip) who won the Maclean Women’s Bowling Club Triples Championship when they defeated Leone Bodycote, Carol Power and Evelyn Triffitt last week. 

Results of earlier matches are as follows.

Round 1: L Bodycote, C Power, E Triffitt d N Phelps, S Grieve, L McKay in a close game with the scores being even going into the last end. M Crelley, F Stewart-Butcher, C Causley d M Mutch, L Rae, M Parker; P Ryan, C Johnson, S Ferro d M Ryan, C Byrum, M Stallard; M Grimes, W Haselum, J Parkes received a forfeit from L Pearcey, L Connor, P Stockings.

Round 2: E Triffitt d J Parkes; C Causley’s team (with sub D Burey) d S Ferro’s team (with sub S Youlten). Consolation prize.

Members of the Red Cross had a stall selling their goods and the club gave them a generous donation.

There will be a general meeting after lunch next Tuesday November 26.

The raffle was won by V Falvey.

Social results: R McCarthy, L Pearcey (voucher winners) d M Combley, L Sheppard; L Connor, V Falvey, M Parker d P Essex, B Mitchell, P Stockings.

The Ray White Scroungers game was won by F Butcher, second was L Sheppard and third was S Grieve. The wine went to B Littlewood and B Mitchell.
