Maclean Triples Champions

The members of Maclean Women’s Bowling Club last week expressed their regret that Margaret Tomek has to relinquish bowls for the time being due to family problems but she hopes to return later on. The Annual General Meeting takes place next Monday July 2 at 1.30pm. All positions will be declared vacant. Subscription fees are now due and must be paid before June 30. A few more people are needed to make a sufficient number for the trip to South West Rocks to go ahead on November 20 and 21. There was only one social game on Tuesday June 19 as it was the start of the Triples Championship. It resulted in a win for B Littlewood, G Parsons and R Arkcoll who defeated M Combley, B Mitchell and I Whitney. Both teams received vouchers for a free game of bowls. Congratulations to Narelle Phelps, Lee McKay and Kerrie Hudson (skip) who have won the Triples Championship by defeating Lee Rae, Virginia Nicholson and Merle Ryan (skip) 17-14 in a hard fought match on June 21 with a high standard of play by all the contestants.
