Lynne Mowbray|

The Maclean Museum is celebrating its 50th birthday this Saturday (October 19) and the community are invited to come along and join in the festivities.

The Maclean Historical Society was formed in 1969 with the Stone Cottage officially opened in 1975, followed by the Bi-Centennial Museum in 1988.

Saturday’s festivities will take place at the museum from 10am – 4pm, with the Welcome to Country at 11am, followed by the cutting of the 50th anniversary cake.

The community are invited to make the most of the celebrations and the FREE access of the museum complex.

There’s plenty for all the family: vintage cars, vintage displays, vintage machinery and food stalls.

There will be a prize for the Best Costume for the Era, which will be announced at midday.

So, get along and check out the history of Maclean and join in the celebrations of this special milestone for the Maclean Museum.

The Museum is located on the corner of Wharf and Grafton Streets, Maclean.
