Let the regattas begin

As the weather warms, the breezes freshen and the days lengthen, the sailing competition likewise heats up. The Harwood based Big River Sailing Club (BRSC) will host the first of its major regattas, the Single Handed Regatta over the weekend of October 19-20 followed by the  classic ‘Bridge to Breakers’ Regatta on November 23-24.

The Single Handed Regatta has grown in popularity in recent years and the Club anticipates the event will be well patronised by the invited classes, and in particular the OK Dinghy, Laser, and Impulse fleets. The regatta format is for multiple short course racing on the waters adjacent to the clubhouse, commencing with a competitor briefing at 1pm AEDT on the Saturday.

Following the recent rebuild, the Club is well positioned to cater for the many travelers who treat this as a ‘must do’ event. Camping and hot showers are provided free of charge and the canteen will operate throughout the weekend.

A Notice of Race and additional information about this and other upcoming events is available at www.revolutionise.com.au/brsailingclub/

The website also contains a link whereby intending participants can pre-register for events. Due to regatta commitments, the Learn to Sail program will not operate on the weekends of BRSC regattas.
