The Lawrence Fishing Club held their monthly outing on April 6-7.

Thanks to all the members that attended the weigh in and barbeque it was great to see so many participate in the day.

Twenty one members fished estuary with a total of 52.23kg. Three members fished deep sea weighing a total of 20.89kg. This was a great effort by all those that fished.

Estuary winners: Men’s  – Carl Press 8.16kg; Ladies –  Lyn Morgan 1.90kg; Junior boy – Jace Firth 6.31kg; Junior girl – Shayde Firth. 0.61 kg; Secret weight was won by Valmai Davis; Member’s draw was won by Samuel de Graaf who wasn’t at the weigh in.

Biggest fish of day was a Jewfish weighing 6.73kg caught by Carl Press.

Deep Sea winner: Men’s – Ben Geide weighing a total of 17.40kg.

Our raffle was won by a visitor at The Lawrence Tavern thanks to the patrons and members for your support.

The club would also like to thank the SES representatives that joined us to provide information about the floods and what the SES actually accomplish for the community.
