Lawrence croquet

After the festive season layoff, players were eager to take to the courts for their first games of 2019. It was a welcome back to Lorraine who is gradually recovering from a serious fall she had in November of last year. Although not yet back to full fitness, she managed to complete two games and be on the winning team for both.

Most of the members were somewhat rusty after not swinging a mallet for a several weeks. A few fun matches comprising either three or five players per court made for an enjoyable comeback to the game. Bob managed to beat all the ladies in his five player match and having a few weeks off hadn’t lessened his skills – he achieved four jump shots.

It took a while for the players to get back into the swing of things. However Edna managed a hoop in one and both she and Karen scored a jump shot each. Carole and Nancy dusted off the cobwebs and won all of their games.

Twilight croquet matches have been postpone for the next month or so or until the afternoon temperatures starts to drop.

We welcome new players, so if you would like to come and give croquet a try why not join us for some warm friendly company, a lot of laughs and some great fun. Our days of play are Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8am. All equipment is supplied. The cost to play is $6 per session
