‘It’s in the Bag’ – November drive

Lynne Mowbray|

It’s on once again.
‘Share the Dignity’ is about to kick off ‘It’s in the Bag’ Christmas Appeal drive, to help provide sanitary and personal care items to women within our community who are doing it tough.

You can either purchase a bag or recycle a preloved bag (in good condition) and fill it with basic essentials such as pads and tampons, deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste, brush and comb, shampoo and soap as well as a few little luxuries like lip balm, new socks, a magazine and anything that would make a woman or teenage girl feel special. You can even pop a thoughtful note of encouragement, into the bag.

There are thousands of women and girls around the country who are experiencing homelessness, sleeping rough, or seeking refuge in domestic violence shelters each and every night.

From Friday November 22 until Saturday December 7 you can drop your bags off at Bunnings Warehouse at South Grafton, where a collection bin has been placed (just ask a staff member for directions).

Your act of kindness can help put a smile on the face of someone who is doing it tough.

So come on. Help to make this Christmas a little bit brighter for women and girls in need.
