Grafton Floral Art Society

The first Grafton Floral Art Society meeting for the year 2020 was held, even though there was torrential rain and predicted flood rains.

President, Lyn welcomed all present and two apologies were received and accepted.

Correspondence was tabled from the Parish Council of Grafton Cathedral with sincere thanks for the work, preparation and maintenance of the Festival of Flowers, held jacaranda week. Seasons greetings were received from the Cancer Council fund raising team. The Garden Club of Australia forwarded their annual report for 2019 and the autumn issue of “Our Garden” for distribution to members.

Much discussion followed as the president presented a preliminary programme for 2020, which included Grafton Show, The Cancer Council morning tea, floral display July Race week.

As Friday February 14 is Valentine’s Day, a member completed a contemporary design in oblong bowl. For height used trimmed umbrella grass, contoured down with Rosemary, lilac and yellow chrysanthemums and an assortment of succulents.

A reminder to members the next meeting to be held on February 27 will be an exercise an arrangement ‘My Choice in Green’.
