Cyclone activity stops and good golf recommences

With the cyclone gone, conditions last week at Yamba were a bit tamer than the previous week with some fantastic scores being returned… the course must be playing easy.

First great score of the day was our A Grade winner Graham Kulmar with 44pts or 5 over, Mike Grills was 2nd with 42pts and 3rd was Greg Starr with 39pts.

B Grade scores were a bit more the norm with Nick Anderson scoring 42pts to give him the win from Andrew Bennett 41pt and 3rd was John Maguire with 40pts.

Tommy James took out C Grade with 44pts from Tony fisher 43pts on a c/b from Anthony Bromilow.

Balls for the day went to a massive 37pts with 19pts on the back 9.

Saturday’s monthly medal

A good field contested the March medal and with it being the Keith Flett Memorial Matchplay qualifier, players were trying their best with the top 32 to qualify.

Andrew Kelly won the A Grade medal with 69 nett on a c/b from Don Maling and 3rd went to Terry Crowe with 70 nett. Richie Carter won the gross shooting 76 hits on his birthday.

In B Grade Andrew King was the medal winner with 67 nett from Stephen Hardwick 68 nett and 3rd was Guy Carpenter with 70 nett on a c/b.

Any King won the gross with 85 hits.

In C Grade Brian Dwyer took the medal with a great 66 nett from Barry Norden 67 nett and 3rd was Don Williams with 71 nett on a c/b.

Brian won the gross with 95 hits.

NTPs: John Wright Pro Shop 3rd – Kris Thomsen got his 1st at 320cm; Peter Campbell Physio 9th – Dave Bruton at 495cm; SeaFire 10th – Noel Collie at 135cm; SeaFire 10th – Kris Thomsen’s 2nd at 121cm and his 3rd was the Bean Scene 17th at 195cm; the 2nd shot 17th went to Geoff Butler at 74cm.

Balls went to 73 nett with 37 nett on the back 9.

Sunday 2 person Ambrose

The winner of Sundays 2 person Ambrose were the team of Cherryanne Watson and Bruce Lulham with 61.75 nett, runners up were Sue and Dave Wilson with 67 nett and 3rd was Julie Vernol and Alan Syle with 68 nett.

NTPs: SeaFire Steak and Seafood 3rd – Alan Syle and Jayne McCormack; The Block Café 10th wasn’t won and the Sassafras Pizza and Pasta was Jayne McCormack and Jan Dampney. Ball went to 69 ½ nett.
