Country labor launches Clarence campaign

On Sunday Country Labor candidate for Clarence, Trent Gilbert had his official campaign launch.

With the State election on March 23 on a few weeks away, seats across the North Coast such as Clarence could decide the election.

Guy Zangari MP, Shadow Minister for Police, Correctional Services and Emergency Service officially launched the Labor Clarence Campaign at the Memorial RSL Hall in Yamba, supported by locals from Casino to Grafton.

Mr Gilbert said: “The Liberals and Nationals have their priorities all wrong. While cost of living and electricity prices soar in regional NSW they are busy splurging $2.2 billion dollars tearing down perfectly good Sydney stadiums”.

“The cost of living in Country NSW has gone through the roof since the Nationals privatised our electricity networks”

“The people of the Richmond and Clarence Valleys have been ignored too long. Labor will put our local schools and hospitals first and regulate electricity prices”

“I won’t sit in Parliament and vote for billions of dollars for Sydney stadiums while our TAFE system is destroyed and our people are homeless or under extreme housing stress. Even our domestic violence services have been decimated”.

Guy Zangari MP said: “it was an honour to launch the campaign of such a committed and passionate Country Labor Candidate. Trent Gilbert will be a strong advocate for the Clarence in parliament”

“For too long the Nationals have taken Clarence for granted. We have had Labor representation here before which gave Clarence a fair go. Let’s work hard and get it again”.
