Clarence kids to strike from school; call for political action on climate change

Clarence Valley kids are going on strike from school on Friday November 30 to call on our politicians to take urgent action on climate change and stop the Adani coal mine. School students in over twenty five towns around Australia including Grafton, Canberra, Cairns, Adelaide, Albury, Townsville, the Whitsundays, Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, Geelong, Ballarat, Lismore, Byron Bay, Newcastle, Coffs Harbour, Wollongong, Inverell, Maitland, Bega, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Bundaberg, Perth, Cygnet, Darwin have pledged to go on strike from school on November 30 over political inaction on climate change. The month of strike action was started on November 1 by year 8 students in Central Victoria who were inspired by 15 year old Swedish student Greta who started striking this year and strikes with other kids every Friday.
  • WHAT: A group of school students will be striking from schools in the Clarence Valley and will be visiting federal MP Kevin Hogan’s office to share their concerns about climate change. They will be supported by their parents and local community members.
