Changed traffic conditions on Ulmarra ferry at Ulmarra

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions next Wednesday at the Ulmarra ferry over the Clarence River at Ulmarra.

The ferry’s regular monthly maintenance on the first Wednesday of the month will be extended by two hours on Wednesday 1 April to allow the installation of a new cable to be carried out.

This work will avoid the need for a second closure of the ferry and is expected to be carried out between 9.30am and 1.30pm, weather permitting.

Motorists can use the Grafton Bridge or the Bluff Point Ferry at Lawrence as alternatives and are advised to plan their journey, allow extra travel time and follow all traffic signs.

Electronic message signs will be in place at Maclean, Lawrence and Queen streets in Grafton to remind motorists of the ferry closure.

As a service to Ulmarra ferry users, Transport for NSW is offering SMS updates about closures and any other changes to the service. People can register by emailing grafton.regional.office@rms.nsw.gov.au, phoning 6640 1331 or visiting www.rms.nsw.gov.au/ulmarraferry.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.

Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
