Changed traffic conditions at Bluff Point Ferry in Lawrence

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions from next week at Lawrence when the 18-car second ferry at Bluff Point is taken out of service for its mandatory three-yearly maintenance.

Maintenance was due to begin on 10 March but had been delayed due to adverse marine weather conditions for offshore towing, and the ferry was kept in service.

Weather conditions forecast from 2-6 April are considered suitable for towing to Port Macquarie so the ferry will be taken offline from Monday 30 March so it can be prepared for the tow.

There will be no change in operations for the 24-car main ferry.

Motorists may experience delays and queueing issues at Lawrence until the second ferry returns in about two months.

To avoid delays, commuters between the Lower Clarence and Grafton are encouraged to use the Pacific Highway and the new Grafton bridge.
