Changed traffic conditions and night work for Woolgoolga to Ballina upgrade

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions and night work on the Pacific Highway from Monday 25 November to Sunday 1 December for the Woolgoolga to Ballina upgrade. These changed traffic conditions are subject to change, conditions permitting.

From Monday, there will be five days of work on the Pacific Highway between Pimlico and West Ballina to carry out asphalting and guardrail adjustments. Northbound motorists can expect lane closures and short stoppages between 6am and 6pm.

Heavy machinery and traffic barriers will be moved on the Pacific Highway at Mororo from Monday for up to four days. Motorists can expect traffic control and short stoppages at times between 6am and 6pm.

Further south from Monday, there will be up to four nights of work on the Pacific Highway between Chatsworth Island and Mororo to carry out asphalting and deliver material to site. Motorists can expect lane closures and traffic control between 6pm and 6am.

From Tuesday, there will be up to five nights of work on the Pacific Highway at Glenugie to carry out asphalting and line marking in preparation for the upcoming traffic change. Northbound motorists will be temporarily moved onto the Old Pacific Highway at Glenugie for five nights next week between 6pm and 7am.

Next week, traffic on the Pacific Highway will be temporarily moved onto a new section of road between Serpentine Channel and Carrolls Lane, Chatsworth Island, one lane in each direction. The intersection of Serpentine Channel North Bank Road and the Pacific Highway will be temporarily closed.

Southbound motorists will next week be permanently moved onto the new Glenugie overpass bridge which connects to the existing Pacific Highway via the new southbound on ramp.

Additional changes to local roads

Traffic control will be in place on McAndrews Lane at Pimlico for four days from Monday while asphalting is carried out. Motorists can expect lane closures, traffic control and short stoppages between 7am and 6pm.

Also from Monday, there will be six days of work on Tuckombil Road, Woodburn to clear vegetation. Motorists can expect lane closures and traffic control between 6am and 6pm.

Further south from Monday, there will be up to six days of work to clear vegetation and carry out work on the new bridge at Jubilee Street, Townsend. Motorists can expect lane closures, traffic control and increased stoppages to allow access to the site and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h between 6am and 6pm.

From Wednesday, there will be up to four days of work on Old Bagotville Road at Wardell to remove koala grids. Motorists can expect traffic control and short stoppages at times between 7am and 6pm.

Temporary traffic lights will be in use on Broadwater-Evans Head Road next week as work continues on the future interchange. A reduced speed limit, one lane alternate arrangement and temporary traffic lights are in place.

Traffic control will be in use on Woodburn-Evans Head Road at Woodburn from Monday for six days to allow vehicles to access the project site. Motorists can expect lane closures and traffic control between 6am and 6pm.

Traffic has been permanently moved onto the new overpass bridge at Chatsworth Road north. The old Mororo Bridge is temporarily closed while drainage is installed.
