ANZAC Dawn Service at Chatsworth Island

The Chatsworth Island Anzac sub-committee will again this year conduct a Dawn Service at the town cenotaph. Muster will be at 5.15am and the service will open at 5.30am.

The Chatsworth school captains will deliver the address during the service and piper Alister Smith of the Maclean Pipe Band will pipe the lament and the final hymn.

The sub/committee has put a lot of time and effort into making the service the success it is. From a fledging start in 2015, some sixty-six turned out last year, including a large number of young people.

Chatsworth, Ashby, Harwood, Wombah and the surrounding district paid a high price in casualties during WW1 & WW2. We invite your attendance again this year and if you wish to lay a family tribute upon the cenotaph please call Roger Jones on 0407 299 370 or email; lenoxlad@bigpond.net.au to enable us to include you in the programme.

“Lest we forget”.
